Amber Hunting

I do arrange Amber Hunting Excursions on the beach alongside the coast for groups – small or large – during daytime as well as in the evening all through the year. - The hunting begins with a short instruction to the 'hunters' at the meeting point, and at the same time I will show you a selection of amber pieces found in the sand in this area.

Down on the beach the participant hunters are getting instructions about special precautions and practical arrangements which should be taken when successfully trying to find amber in the sand of the North Sea beach. You will be shown the most used serviceable tools which are used when looking for amber at the water's edge.

We will go through the necessary safety instructions before we start hunting on the beach and on the water's edge.

Most people find the dark evenings in the months from November till February very exiting and fascinating. The participants must bring their own strong luminous torches for the hunting of amber. Often during the hunting we are surprised by resting seals on the beach and hungry foxes hunting for fishes being washed ashore.

The duration of the hunting excursions are approx. 3 hours from start to end for the day trips as well as for the night trips. During that time I will tell some stories about the local coast fishing in earlier times, about larger dramatic stranding events and about shipwrecks.

My fee including ½ hours introduction on a parking area near the beach prior to an “Amber hunting” session arranged by the participants is 500 DKK incl. mileage allowance, the fee to be paid according to invoice (not later than one week after the hunting session).

The fee for a recognized and guided “Amber Hunting” of 2 hours' duration for a team or a group of participants comprising up to 10 persons is 750 DKK incl. mileage allowance, to be paid according to invoice (not later than one week after the hunting session).
